Markus Schimpp Markus Schimpp: Diabelli-Contest 2014

« Back ⇧List⇧ Next »
Even 100 years after the First World War, a substantial part of the world population does not live in peace.
Due to this fact, I present the ninth in its musical-verbal double meaning. There can only be peace if both parties, epitomized here by both the whole tone-musical scales, approach each other. The second harmonical theme (T9) represents the hope and yearning for peace.
As a small testimonial to Diabelli and the variation initiated from him in 1819, the form of the piece is inspired from the classical sonata-allegro form.
