It begins with a portrayal of an atomic explosion which slowly dissipates. The theme “Irini” is initially recited in the following serene movements. The Maestosso motive which follows, signifies the question to the persistance of peace. In the allegro, we find again the “Irini“ theme as symbol of
confidence.
