The theme “Irini” is in its composition symbolic as the hammock of an elderly man who reflects on his participation in World War 2 at the time he was 21 years old.
The composer also allowed the “Irini” motif to act as a guiding theme for the memory of the elderly soldier.
At the conclusion of the composition, the soldier who is now a grandfather has suddenly sensed the fascination of his grandchild who is listening, during which hope, joy and strength is expressed musically.
