Konstantin Kemnitz: Diabelli-Contest 2014

Konstantin Kemnitz My name is Konstantin Kemnitz. I was born in Leipzig on 12 February, 1993, attended the Thomasschule zu Leipzig (St. Thomas School, Leipzig) and from 1999 to 2003 was part of the Thomanerchor (St. Thomas Choir of Leipzig). After graduating from school with the “Allgemeine Hochschulreife“ (general qualification for university entrance) in June 2011, I went on to do a number of internships, e.g. at Philipp E. Kümpel’s recording studio in Leipzig. Kümpel works as a film composer and holds classes at the University of Music and Theatre “Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy” Leipzig that I attended as a guest student. In September 2012 I started a full-time "Basic Filmmusic Composer" training course with Matthias Wittwer at the musicube academy in Bonn and completed it successfully. Since September 2013 I have studied composing for film and theater at the ArtEZ Institute of the Arts in Arnhem, Netherlands.
In November 2012 I won 2nd Prize at the First German Gamemusic Award in Bremen. Contestants were required to write music for a full-size orchestra for two video game trailers, and the three award winners had their pieces performed by the Landesjugendorchester Bremen.
