Gisela Egli-Zemp Gisela Egli-Zemp: Diabelli Contest 2016

The choir movement should be able to be sung by a average amateur choir. The chromatic “spirits”- they can probably not sing sections properly directly from sheet, but if you infer the part register individually in the rehearsal and, in addition accompany the piano and repeat a few times, it should well suffice.

I could also deliver a piano excerpt (on two notation systems).
The tempo markings can be adjusted at will. I have written it in a way that I find it pleasurable and you can hear and distinguish the harmonies well. I often hear music played very quickly on the radio, which does not appeal to me. It could be that it’s just fashionable these days and young people like the frantic speed better.
