Angelos Tsoutsis Angelos Tsoutsis: Carl Orff Competition 2018 Song of Eurydice

« Back ⇧List⇧ Next »
A piece of work that was in my mind for several years. The theme of Eurydice has been one of my favourite . The contest helped me to find the poetry of Rilke. As for the music it is a hopefully striking theme that one listens and don't forget. The arpeggio is taken from a classical guitar but the development of it is originally for a small orchestra and here adapted for harp. This piece served as an Ouverture for a musical but now with the lyrics from the poem of Rilke it has found it's true purpose here instead of a ' Vocallizandi con ah' which it was.A three quarters basic tempo changing with two quarters and a geometrically unequal finale in 32's and three eighths is completing what was an inspiration from my excursion to Montpellier.
