Orpheus.Eurydike.Hermes.
Associations for baritone with frame drum and harp
A compositional reading of the Rilke text, which gives further musical text associations space along side the direct commentating accompaniment: tonal or not, metric bound or free, sometimes scenic and clamorous.
The realisation of the score by samples in the attached mp3 provides an aural impression that supports the reading of the score. However, this audio version is not able to adequately render all play modes of harp and frame drum. The vocal is represented (more or less) by a sample of bass clarinets. Parts of the score consisting entirely of text instructions are not heard.
