Johannes Dörr Johannes Dörr: Carl Orff Competition 2018 Orpheus.Eurydike.Hermes

« Back ⇧List⇧ Next »
The piece begins in C-major and the joy that Orpheus is allowed to take his mistress out of the underworld with him but the mood quickly changes into the "fate tone" in C- minor. Musically, the piece is kept very simple and is supposed to be reminiscent of "old" music as it is well suited to the ancient theme of the poem excerpt.
