Alicia Dominguez Arcos
I come from a family of three successive generations: my grandfather, my father (he was a professional musician with a comprehensive education), and myself. I am the third in line as a professional musician. I started at the age of 3 years with my musical progress and playing the clarinet. At the age of 5 years I took the test for the Union of Musicians in order to become a professional but the permitted age for such an examination at the time was 16 years of age. At the age of 5, I was in two bands, one in San Roque for children and another professional band in La Línea with my father and grandfather. Afterwards I joined another band of my father's in addition to studying and being tested free of charge at the conservatory. After that I created my own music group and alternated with a music group of my father's when after 7 years we became successful with the band La Linea.
... As I continued my studies, I entered the ''La Linea Conservatory''. I was in classes that were part of the daily life of a conservatory where I learned that it is not the same as being free of charge. After several music groups, where we missed all kinds of music and events, I recorded my own album, which was one of the top ten on ''Cadena Dial'' for 6 months with the theme of "La Quiero". I was called Sonay, hence the SGAE (General Society of Spanish Authors) with my father who handed over to me as an author and songwriter, like Alicia Domínguez and also the pseudonym Sonay. I was on television, radio and I have now published books extensively in this field.
Over a period of 15 years I have been teaching and I am pleased that all the results were very positive, both with exams, as well as training in music,... I had a choir of both young and older children a few years ago.... Now part of a program of special classes. I use music therapy for children with neurological disorders, delays, autisms, asperge, nystagmus, cerebral infarctions etc..... I once again implemented a dissertation aid, benefits and recreation therapy which uses music for neurological diseases affecting children and up to and including senior citizens. I sent this to Sgae and also to Her Majesty the Queen Doña Sofía de España, in which she expressed her appreciation to me for its contribution to the thesis of neurological experts of the Alzheimer disease of Vallecas (Madrid).
