This work has been composed using only the notes included in the indicated themes. The bass-ostinato takes the notes from Mozart’s Fantasia. The three upper voices use the five notes of Orff’s chord. The whole piece comprises two sections. Each of them consists of a broad crescendo. The second one is bigger than the first and culminates presenting the bass-ostinato theme being exposed by most of the voices with the sounds of a powerful registration.
The melody of the bass does homage to that of the Passacaglia (and Fugue) in C minor, by J. S. Bach… although he hadn’t been invited.
