Luis Alberto Mariño Fernández Luis Alberto Mariño Fernández: Carl Orff Competition 2019 Visiones del Apocalipsis para Organo solo

« Back ⇧List⇧ Next »
It is a piece that as a part of the musical materials proposed for the competition is arranged in another structural order. The cadence that ends the first sentence of the theme of Mozart is inserted in a linear chromatic extension and thus begins to form another very different musical material. The same thing happens with the beginning of this phrase of Mozart, which is found in the final section of the work in a canon-ostinato. In productively, creative fashion, I am interested in approaching the mystery of what it may be to have a vision as complex as the one narrated in the apocalypse. Especially as it can feel like this humanly, transcendental experience.

The first section is part of the fragmentation of several temporal lines that are happening and multiplying the temporal linear experience of the subject until it leads to a more unitary and linear vision.

The second section of the work represents the moment of the words (from the angel) and the answers (from the thunder). This happens to the counterposition of two conglomerates of chords from the discursive unity until this alternation flows into the chords (reference to the Orff material), which symbolizes the mandate to confirm what was heard.

The last section refers to the oath. And here the beginning of the phrase of Mozart is arranged in an ostinato.
