Brother Jacques, is the title of a well-known, popular children's song by the French composer Jean-Philippe Rameau, performed in the form of a canon, known in English as Brother John and in Spanish as Fray Santiago, Martinillo, La lechuza.
The composition presented has a didactic purpose to improve solfeggio and the integral understanding of the musical process in children, since by modulating the same melody in three different tones and with rhythmic variations, the practice of musical intervals and their reading is experienced.
Harmonised in a contemporary style, it offers special colours, textures and sensations for the school environment and the Orff method.
The title Akátaro Tathagata refers in Sanskrit to "he who has freed himself and teaches the way". It is an awakening of the Buddhas, a consciousness that is present in relation to and in connection with the text of the theme Fray Santiago, where the story of a monk who falls asleep is told and is asked to wake up and ring the bells.
