Johannes Schachtner: Carl Orff Competition 2020 Freedom of Thought

Johannes Schachtner John X. Schachtner worked as a conductor and composer after his studies and scholarship stays in Bamberg and Paris. He has conducted orchestras such as the Munich Symphony Orchestra, the Bad Reichenhall Philharmonic Orchestra and the Bavarian Chamber Philharmonic. Music theatre productions have taken him to the Vorarlberger Landestheater and the Munich Biennale, among others. His extensive work as a composer is regularly performed by internationally renowned soloists such as Julius Berger, Julia Fischer, Maximilian Hornung or the conductor Ulf Schirmer and has been documented on two portrait CDs. For his work Johannes X. Schachtner has received many awards for his work, including the Bavarian Art Promotion Prize in 2014.
