"Escravos de Jó" is a well-known circle game played in Brazil. Everyone has an item that they pass on to their neighbour, and the neighbour goes around the circle. This Brazilian children's song is a very old song and still very popular. I learned this song during my teaching experience in the south of Brazil.
"The players sit in a circle, each one holding an object (it could be a box of matches, a cup, a stone, a shoe, etc.) in his hand. While singing, they must pass the item to the next person in the circle until they reach the line "Guerreiros com guerreiros" (warriors with warriors). At the end of this line they say "zig zig zá" and the players all make a back and forth movement with the object without passing it on to the next person. The funny part is that they will sing the song over and over again, but it goes faster and faster each time."
