Marita Scheller Marita Scheller: Carl Orff Competition 2020 Do you know how many stars stand

« Back ⇧List⇧ Next »
"Weißt du wieviel Sternlein stehen" is a German children's song, which is one of my favourite songs from my childhood. It originates from a folk song to which the protestant pastor Wilhelm Hey wrote the text as a goodnight song in 1837 (source of information: lieder-archiv.de).
Since the competition conditions allow 4 verses, I have written an additional one, the 3rd verse.
I have chosen the accompaniment so that it does not overlap the singing and the accompaniment by the children. Therefore the first part of each verse is accompanied only with pizzicato. The length of the intermediate part is chosen so that the children can change instruments if necessary.
