Friedemann Hasse: Carl Orff Competition 2020 Lecha Dodi

Friedemann Hasse Friedemann Hasse was born in 1985 in the Baroque city of Dresden, Germany. From the age of 6 he studied violin under Franziska Gräfe and Prof. Volker Dietzsch. From the age of 16 he received composition lessons from Silke Fraikin and became a member of the children's composer class in Halle-Dresden. At the age of 18 he made his debut as a composer with the piece "Skurrile Szene im Wandel der Erinnerung" (Kulturrathaus Dresden) and a little later with the horn concert "Die Jagd auf Clairon, den Ohrwurm" (Kulturpalast Dresden). In addtion to his studies (2004-2012) at the Carl Maria von Weber Academy of Music (Dresden) he was violinist of the acoustic rock band Stilbruch (2005-2015). His published works include numerous poetry settings (Brecht, Hölderlin, Heine, Kaléko, Lasker-Schüler, Morgenstern etc.), film music for 2 television films for Central German Broadcasting (MDR), 2 children's operas, 1 chamber opera (directed by the Hamburg State Opera) and various instrumental music for partly unusual instrumentations.

Friedemann Hasse lives with his wife and two children in Leipzig. He works as a freelance composer, violin and orchestra teacher at the music and art school "Ottmar Gerster". He is also active in various associations for the promotion of young talent in the field of music.
