Luis Laya Luis F. Laya

Venezuelan pianist and composer, trained in the Latin American Chair of Composition with Maestro Blas Atehortúa and in the Bachelor of Music mention Composition of UNEARTE with Maestro Gerardo Gerulewicz. He has studied Piano at the Simón Bolívar Music Conservatory in the city of Caracas with Doménico Lombardi. He has developed as a teacher in the Latin American Chair of Composition; coordinating collective musical projects such as the "Cantata in Tribute to Simón Díaz", a choral symphonic work of great importance carried out by his composition students. He has received numerous composition awards among which stand out: the 1st International Contest of Choral Composition Alberto Grau, with the work "Peace" for of female voices choir; the 1st place in the 1st Contest "Simón Bolívar - Fundación Seguros Caracas", for his work "Piezas Cereales" for Orquesta; the Municipal Music Award of Caracas, for the work "Suite Marina" for Narrator and Orchestra; and the Caracas Municipal Film Prize for the original music of the film "Luisa" by Juan Carlos Wessolossky, best foreign film at the Sant Andreu de la Barca Festival and official selection of the Shanghai International Film Festival.
