The musical setting of the poem ORPHEUS. EURYDICE. HERMES by Rainer Maria Rilke was completely revised by myself and now follows the prescribed text section. Just as before I have been working in the part of the frame drum in the baritone voice.
The piano is not a mere accompaniment, but intensifies a glimpse into its preludes and interludes in the event as well as the "players" involved in the profound saga: at the beginning of Orpheus´Lyre, the vulnerable Eurydice and the irrevocable decision of God are mediated by the piano, while the singer tells the story. Dark ends the story of the two lovers and Dark ends the music with the fate drum of the god Hermes in morendo[played as if dying off; fading away].
