Thorsten Corban: Carl Orff Competition 2018 Im Rueckblick (In retrospect)

Looking back at the events in the underworld, Orpheus perceives his Eurydice differently. All that he has once associated with her no longer exists.
As he himself judged this change, he interprets this to the audience through beatbox. The bleakness of the shadow empire is reflected by the conscious reduction of the movement to rhythmic elements - an analogy to the styles of Orff.
Orpheus is now alone: his music becomes a one-man-show, pointless oscillating between text, beatbox, drum rhythm, harp arpeggio and steps that never reach their destination.
