The composition 'Orpheus.Eurydike.Hermes' is writen for harp, baritone voice and frame drum, as requested for the Carl Orff Competition 2018.
Notes to the musicians:
- The last two notes of the baritone part (f#) are too low for a baritone. This is intended for the purpose of the text expression. It should be sung very quietly. If the singer cannot in any way reach this note (which I doubt), this note could be changed.
- The piece is written for professional harp player and baritone singer. As the frame drum is to be played by the singer, the frame drum part is kept very simple and is only used in parts when the baritone does not sing.
- The frame drum uses two sounds: the dum (low sound, produced by hitting the middle of the drum) and the tek (high sound, produced by hitting the side of the drum).
