Alexander Eichmann: Carl Orff Competition 2020 Kamaschay

Alexander Eichmann The German composer, musician and music educator Alexander Eichmann was born in Tobol (former Soviet Union) in 1961. At the age of 15 he was accepted as a young student at the Rudniy Conservatory. Alexander Eichmann completed his artistic studies in the main subjects button accordion (bayan) and conducting with distinction at the "Modest Petrovich Mussorgsky Music Academy" Ekaterinburg (Russia) in the master class of Prof. Klukin.
At the age of 29 concurrently to his position as music school director, solo performances followed with symphony orchestras in Russia and Kazakhstan.
A major turning point in his biography was his move to Germany in 1993 when he began studying music teaching at the University of Cologne. During his teacher training, he regularly gave concerts as a soloist with the program for bayan solo in North Rhine-Westphalia, e.g. in Cologne Cathedral or at the prizewinner's concert of the International Organ Competition of the Hermann Schröder Society.
After years of improvisation and writing numerous arrangements, he was overcome by a great desire to write down his own music. Since then he has been composing for a wide range of instrumentations. His catalogue of works includes works for solo instruments and various ensemble formations, including a string quartet, as well as several pieces for wind and symphonic orchestra.
In addition, he is a music educator for the MPI Foundation (Washington), where he works to optimize the schooling of children from immigrant backgrounds. In 2017, he was honoured for his voluntary work by the Federal Minister of the Interior Thomas De Maiziere on behalf of the Federal Republic of Germany.
At the 1st International Eisenach Composition Prize in 2019, his composition "Sage" was awarded equal status with five other works from all entries. It ranked just behind the prize winner and was judged as a valued performance piece.
