This is a popular Argentinean folk song. Its author is unknown and as such it falls under public domain. It is composed to a Huayno rhythm and has three melodic sections (A, B & C in the score).
In this arrangement you will find the obligatory Orff instruments and a two-part children's choir as well as typical percussion instruments from the classroom (tambourine, sleigh bells, maracas, vibration alarm, guiro and triangle).
While the xylophones and flute play a diatonic scale all the time, the string quintet goes beyond this and uses a variety of scales and different techniques to enrich the basic arrangement.
The entire piece can be played without the string quintet, without losing its form and logic.
In such a case, however, all sections marked "I" should be ignored by playing the following section (A, B or C) directly.
