The piece refers to the first two bars of the C minor Fantasy (KV 475) by Mozart, and on a nine-tone-chord from "De temporum fine comoedia"[Comedy at the End of the Season] by Carl Orff. It acts as a starting point for the development of the material; a tension between two opposites. An existing or pending state stands in sharp contrast to a grainy or specific structure. The tight overlap of these extreme conditions presents the potential of original material – thus the compositional pretext from different angles is shown.
